York, to Denver, PA. 49.4 miles
A top ten riding day. I felt like this was a Sunday ride at Lake Gage with bigger hills. Perfect, cool, sunny , no humidity , no wind day and beautiful country roads. Went through old scenic eastern towns where the old brick row houses were built right on the side walk- no front yards. Many old lovely stone houses and barns. Early in the day we went through Wrightsville and crossed the very wide Susquehanna River. My dad was born in a little Susquehanna River town of Hallstead, PA- a bit north and west of us I think? We were 16 miles from Lancaster at one point so we saw a few buggies and big Amish farms. Roling hills where if you sped down one you could get half way up the next so not too much hard work . Incredible rural vistas of farms and farm land with dozens of shades of spring green and brown, all surround by far off hills.
