Phoenixville to New Hope, PA 49.7 miles

AND an unofficial border crossing into New Jersey! Warm and humid start but cloud cover saved us for most of the ride. Our first 12 miles was on the paved, wide and lovely Schuylkill River Trail. An unusually large  number of turns today so we really had to be alert. Kathy Q and I had the inaugural  distinction of being the first to the sag stop. Well it turned out we were the first and the only because everyone else took a wrong turn and missed the sag. Needless to say I am sticking with Q from now on- she knows her directions! Beautiful narrow , mostly quiet roads today, not rural but county homes and wooded estates- and of course hills.  When we reached the hotel at 1:30 we heard that if went  into New Hope and crossed the bridge over the Delaware River, we would be in New Jersey so that's what we did- a mighty fine day all in all.
Our guide Michelle giving us early morning cue sheet hints
   Urban scenes along the trail
The beautiful stone houses still everywhere
Nancy our super sag with delicious and tidy offerings all for

  1. I love your New Jersey and you look mighty "cool" in it! What's this getting to hotel at 1:30 stuff?! I think you may be kicked out of The sweeps! I'm calling Leslie to see if she wants to replace you!
