Topsail Island to New Bern, NC. 100.2 miles

What a  day--The actual mileage was 97 but most of us decided, we might as well make it a century and so we did!   Long day of course but pretty nice. Tail winds a bit more than 50% of the day , many turns which make the route interesting and keeps me alert. Mostly country roads. It did get very hot and humid in the afternoon but it was cooler to bike than to stop. I counted at least 10 big, long and thankfully dead snakes on the road today. They must have come up during the rain and high water. In New Bern tonight which looks like a charming town but arrived too late and too tired to explore
